Cruising Tips
Insider Tips for Cruisers

At Luxury Cruising Agency, we want you to be prepared for your cruise vacations so here are some "insider" cruising tips:

  • Packing - Pack your swimsuit in a small bag and carry it on with you, this way once you board the ship you will be able to enjoy the pool long before your suitcases are delivered to your cabins. Pack a power strip and extension cord as many cruise-ship cabins have only one outlet. You may need more than one to power up your laptop, iPod, cell phone, hair dryer and any other gadgets you bring on board.
  • Cruising with Kids - There has never been a better time for cruising with the entire family. Most cruise lines have children's programs, at least for part of the year. A good rule is... the larger the ship, the better the program. Let our extensive knowledge of these programs ensure that there are age-specific activities right for your kids. Cruise lines offer kids' programs and sitter service during shore excursions, too, so you can take an excursion yore're interested in without worrying that the kids will be bored.
  • Panama Canal - Most cruise ships, whether on a full or partial transit of the Panama Canal, enter the canal early in the morning and leave later in the day. Cruisers who want to get the best pictures of transiting the canal should bone up on their photo skills, making sure that they know the right camera settings for back lighting, and the less-than-perfect lighting of early morning and dusk. Review those exposure adjustments for lesser light situations. For most shots, the flash just won't provide the depth of lighting to capture the magic of transiting the Panama Canal.
  • Visas - With cruise lines adding more exotic destinations, you may find yourself needing a visa for travel. Procuring a visa requires sending an application, passport pictures, and your passport to a foreign consulate (or an expeditor). The visa itself is simply a stamp that covers one entire page in your passport, with an issue date. We partner with a Visa service that can help you secure a Visa if needed. • Alaska Cruisetours - Alaska Cruisetours are the most comprehensive way to get to know Alaska by coupling all the luxury and excitement of your cruise vacation with land tours that reveal Alaska in a completely different way. Let Luxury Cruising AGency help you discover the best of Alaska from both sea and land when you extend your vacation with a Cruisetour.
  • Seeing the Sites in Barcelona - Enjoy the Barcelona port by taking a stroll down La Ramblas with detours to the Gothic Quarter and the Mercat St. Josep market. This wide pedestrian walkway is a perfect way to experience the city. In addition to your cruise experience, we can also help you extend your stay with pre and post packages.
