SeaDream Yacht Club scores Top Service Award Three Years in a Row

Highly Acclaimed SeaDream Yacht Club has scored a big one in yet another authoritative travel industry poll.

Travel + Leisure Magazine's 2006 World’s Best Award Readers Survey, just released in the publication's June issue, rated SeaDream higher than any other passenger shipping company for that all important Wow Factor---Service!

This is not the first time SeaDream has hit the top for Service in Travel + Leisure. For the last two years SeaDream topped all others for Service as well. SeaDream was also rated among the top 10 small cruise lines in this new Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards. And in March this year it was listed by the magazine as one of the World's Top 100 Travel Experiences.

The Travel + Leisure World's Best Readers Survey not only rates cruise lines, but also cities, islands, hotels, airlines, tour companies, spas and car rental agencies.

Travel + Leisure Editor-in-Chief Nancy Novogrod called the Awards Ratings “a powerful gauge of the interests and tastes of sophisticated travelers.”

SeaDream's President & CEO Larry Pimentel, justifiably proud, said “I'm always delighted when we receive such accolades, but I want to add that there are some truly fine travel choices at this luxury end of the spectrum. The fact is, all of the passenger shipping operations included in Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards are extremely good.

“Happily, what I can always say with confidence is that SeaDream is not only an extremely fine leisure travel choice on a good-better-best scale, but it is unique.

SeaDream is simply a different product--- I put the emphasis on the word different---in what is frequently acknowledged by travel industry observers as a sea of sameness,” he stated.

SeaDream Mega Yachts are Named World's Best Small Cruise Ships

SEADREAM YACHT CLUB with its twin ultra luxury mega-yachts SEADREAM I and SEADREAM II, has been named the “World’s Best Small Passenger Shipping Line” in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Poll for 2006.

The annual poll, now in its 18th year, is considered by industry observers to be the most prestigious in the world and honors the best cruise lines, cities, islands, hotels, resorts, airlines and car rental agencies. More than 30,000 subscribers responded to this year’s survey.

In this poll, SEADREAM also received the highest score overall for operators of either small or large vessels and was the only passenger shipping company included in the publication’s listing of the 100 Best-of-the-Best travel experiences---in other words, the best seagoing vacation product in the world regardless of size.

SEADREAM YACHT CLUB operates the twin ultra luxury mega-yachts SEADREAM I and II in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and South America.

In accepting the award from Ivana Trump in New York last night, Larry Pimentel, President, CEO and Co-owner of SEADREAM stated:

“It is my great pleasure to accept this coveted award in behalf of all of my SEADREAM colleagues---all staff members aboard our two yachts and all of those ashore---especially SEADREAM’s principal owner Atle Brynestad, who has always provided the encouragement and support for us to continually strive to achieve a higher standard of excellence.” In his acceptance remarks, the SEADREAM executive also cited retail travel agents as being a major element in the company’s success. “SEADREAM YACHT CLUB was born only five years ago,” he told the audience at the New York City event. “The date was September 1, 2001---precisely the wrong time. Just ten days later Atle Brynestad and I were questioning whether we may have just made the biggest mistake of our professional lives. We persevered and with a small dedicated staff we turned our attention to creating the finest small luxury passenger line operation in the world.

Some of you may remember the inspiring children’s story called The Little Engine that Could. It recounts how over great obstacles a tiny but resolute little train engine, huffs and puffs its way over a very high mountain and succeeds through sheer determination.

I believe The Little Engine that Could is a fitting metaphor for SEADREAM YACHT CLUB. In effect, we are The Little Yachts that Could. This award is proof that we have succeeded,” he stated.
